The HD movie…

'Snap' goes the weasel

So it’s been a while, but finally we are nearly ready to unveil the Route 66 roadtrip footage. What you’ve seen so far is just stuff I recorded on my handheld normal digital camera. Luke has been through the 16 hours of HD footage that we took with his HD Camcorder. Did I mention it was in HD?

And has now cut it up into small segments ready to add to YouTube and then link on here.

He has cut it down to about 1hr 14 mins. So will be in several 10 min chunks.

Currently he is trying to convert it into a more web friendly HD format since the files are Huuuuuuuuuuge. So won’t be long. Especially since the idiot broke his leg jumping out of a plane recently, and as a result has 6 weeks off work with nowt to do. So he has plenty of time to finish it.

Oh yeh, and if you are reading this – Get back to finishing it Mr Hoppy! or i’ll move the furniture around.

So that’s it. We flew off from LAX. But we just had enough time to pop into a Route 66 Bar in the airport itself to have one final stodgy american meal. Good Times.

Hollywood!

We spent 2 days in Santa Monica, LA. On the second say before we got our flight home we did a bit of sightseeing, driving through Hollywood and looking at the famous stars in the pavement, plus popped along to Beverly Hills to look at the rich and the tramps.

We only saw a few famous people while on holiday. Being….

Actor Noah Taylor…

Was Charlie’s dad in the new Charlie and the chocolate factory, plus will be in the New Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland film too. he’s been in lots of other films too such as Tomb Raider, Vanilla Sky and Pirates of the Carribean.

We also saw cocky Rapper Lady Soverign innit…

Plus in LA we saw the actor Seymour Cassel who has been in hundreds of old films, plus he was in Flight of the Chorchords the other day – that’s how I found out what his name was! He was smashed on wine when we saw him and he called us Limey bastards. Charming man though.

Random things on route

There were loads of other small roadside attractions along the old route 66. Sometimes it was difficult to find them, and sometimes we just came across some weird stuff. Here’s a few bits we stumbled upon.

Well the blog is nearly over.

Though Luke has been busy editing all the HD footage of our trip into a small documentary and plans to nearly finish it this weekend. We took about 16 hours of video footage, and he has cut it down into about an hour long piece.

So hopefully after he has finished I will be able to chop it up into 10 min episodes and post here on the blog for all to see.
