Key Lime Pie

August 25, 2009

Santa Monica, LA. After reaching our final goal – the end of route 66, we headed off to the English pub and had some traditional english food.

But then we wanted some traditionally American food. And Luke kept going on about trying some Key Lime Pie, so on the way back we popped into the one place we knew did it.

Four Beers and Four Key Lime Pies please!

Very tasty it was too. Hooters!

Independence Day. No aliens in sight, so we followed that rainbow to the king of chicken places. We tried some new seasoning chicken wings too.

Oh and got a photo while we were there to boot.

Getting hot in hooters…

Back in Amarillo. More food tasting.

We are recommended some spicy chicken wings. Danny is unsure (about the food too), and is caught on camera trying them out to see if he will like em. We did.

Mmmmm chicken.

Somewheeeere over the rainbow…

July 6, 2009

4th July in Albuquerque. The storm from earlier caught up with us.

We tried to find a decent Mexican place to eat by entering it into the SatNav, but she sent us to the Ghetto part of the town, looked dodgy. Then we typed in ‘take us to Applebees’ a nice family style place to eat. But that sent us to a car wash???

Then we decided to go to the Balloon Park, where the 4th July fireworks were being held, but by the time we got there (loads of roads were closed off, and SatNav girl was sending us every which way but loose) it was raining hard.

So we just headed back into town and followed the huge rainbow that had appeared. And weirdly enough, we found a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Total fate. Plus we got to watch the fireworks from the car park in the dry too!

Funnily enough our new hotel was right my another nice restaurant. I picked myself up a wife for Vegas.

Good times.

giggity giggity, gig-git-y

We spent ages on the road today, driving along the original route 66 route and stopping off to take photos and film of various random stuff. We arrived in Springfield fairly late and then ventured out for a bite to eat and found this charming eating establishment.

All the hostesses were extremely friendly and first class (tasty). Especially the brunette, but she wasn’t on the menu unfortunately.

Why are we only staying here one day?!?!?!
