money baby

Finally got around to watching ‘Swingers’ the other night. Out in Vegas on the blag. Def gonna try and get some free drinks again as I gamble.

Currently playing a bit of blackjack to get into the spirit of things and for some practice. Some roulette too me thinks, and of course…..more free drinks.

Kalifornia…here we cooooome.

killaaaaahWatched the 1993 film kalifornia, to get back into the dark side of movies. David Duchovny travels on a roadtrip to write about serial killers, but Brad Pitt tags along who actually is a serial killer! – fun and games ensue.

I’m gonna spot a nutter a mile off at this rate! – shame i’m probably gona have a couple of them in the car with me to begin with.

1 for good, 2 for bad

Just watched probably my favourite road trip movie ever, the 1998 film ‘Rain Man’. Amazing film.

“What you been doing in Vegas Raymond?…..uuuuuurrr Counting Cards.” If only it was that easy.

We are actually taking suit jackets, so might be able to recreate the classic escalator scene. Can’t wait to drive into Vegas! – I’m an excellent driver incidentally.

The Hangover

June 9, 2009

Just been to see a proper Road Trip Movie at the cinema – The Hangover.

Ahhhhh I can’t wait to go to Vegas now. The film was brilliant. I haven’t laughed so much in ages. Not one of those movies where you see all the best bits in the trailer. There were plenty of laughs all the way through.

Best comedy I’ve seen in a while, definitely recommended. Some cool ideas for taking photos in Vegas too. Swimming in a fountain first me thinks!

Anyone for munchies?

June 3, 2009

Burgers!!!!!!!Another road trip movie, this one just randomly looking for a burger joint in the 2004 film ‘Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle‘, also known as Harold and Kumar get the munchies.

Over stupid, but the odd funny bit, and even has Doogie Howser in it!

Plus they seem to run into all sorts of freaks on the road. We can’t possibly run into anyone as freaky as them/us…can we?

Because your Small…S..M..ALL

CuckooJust finished watching the classic 1981 film – The Cannonball Run, the race from NYC to California. God there’s loads of random people in it, Jackie Chan, Roger Moore, Dean Martin and a mad freaky doctor. Cool, lots of fast highway driving.

Great idea to pretend you are speeding cos someone is sick in the car. Should be easy with the people I’m taking.

Must remember to watch some more freaky films like ‘The Hills have eyes’ too, just in case we break down in some remote part of the desert after snapping the handbrake.

Enjoy this trip, and it is a trip!

madnessFear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Now if ever there was a trippy film, it’s this one. Must practice the special walk as I’m going into the casino’s.

The basic synopsis revolves around journalist Raoul Duke and his attorney, Dr. Gonzo, as they arrive in 70’s Las Vegas to report on the Mint 400 motorcycle race. However, they soon abandon their work and begin experimenting with a variety of recreational drugs, such as LSD, cocaine, mescaline, and cannabis. This leads to a series of bizarre hallucinogenic trips, during which they destroy hotel rooms, wreck cars, and have visions of anthropomorphic desert animals, all the while ruminating on the decline of American culture.

I have also got a copy of the book by Hunter S. Thompson to read along the way to keep me in the spirit of things.

Rat Race

May 25, 2009

rat raceRat Race – Another american road trip movie. Weird how it’s the same girl and bloke from the actual ‘Road Trip’ movie appearing in this film too. Some random scenes involving stealing Hitler’s car and insulting a load of World War veterans, but offensively funny at the same time. From Vegas down to New Mexico, we’ll be doing the same route.

Scenary looks great – driving through random desert landscape. Can’t wait to get out there, must avoid road kill such as huge cows though. Vegas – Gambling etc – hell yeah, definitely up for that.

National Lampoon’s Vacation

May 24, 2009

Mom, my sandwich is all wet.Next film on the agenda ticked off – National Lampoon’s Vacation. Classic film. Driving from Chicago to L.A. , exactly like we will be doing. Must download the song too for the car journey. If we have a chance to get a station wagon with wooden paneling, I’m gonna bloody take it!

I think you’re all fucked in the head. We’re ten hours from the fucking fun park and you want to bail out. Well I’ll tell you something. This is no longer a vacation. It’s a quest. It’s a quest for fun. I’m gonna have fun and you’re gonna have fun. We’re all gonna have so much fucking fun we’ll need plastic surgeory to remove our godamn smiles. You’ll be whistling ‘Zip-A-Dee Doo-Dah’ out of you’re assholes! I gotta be crazy! I’m on a pilgrimage to see a moose. Praise Marty Moose! Holy Shit!
